| Magazine Manager has been developed over 2 years, running a real magazine. The developer has been pressured by his wife to get it right, a far more powerful tool than mere money.
So what are users saying?- So far I'm falling in love with it! It was quite a bit of work putting on all the details that I needed at the outset, even with Andy having loaded my advertisers details in for me. Going through and inputting all the ads that were already booked and invoiced was quite a learning process (but I do have a lot of people booked and invoiced for future copies, if you tend to invoice everyone monthly you wouldn't have so much). It also highlighted to me just how many different pricing structures I have accumulated and has spurred me on to do a price rise and simplify the pricing structure. Only thing left to do now is input email addresses, other than that everything is in and I'm using it alongside my current system. Already finding it a lot quicker than my old system and very user friendly. Sat down and read the manual front to back last night - should probably have done this before!!!! But did find some stuff I didn't know and there are lots of great functions I'll definately be using. Love the 'to do list' - advertisers due for renewal automatically pop up on it, and it's great to be able to see not only what is booked for the current month, but also who I still need copy off. Liz , Editor of Ashby Life Like Liz I have fallen in love with Magazine Manager, it is very easy to use, and it was I who also asked about monthly invoicing! The fact the information required is on one place is a a huge time save in itself. It is a learning curve in terms of invoicing and inputting current bookings and current bookings that have already been invoiced, however Cathy and Andy are always on hand to help and advise and "undo" any damage. It is saving me a huge amount of time and effort already once I have mastered the invoicing it will be a breeze. It is nearly impossible not to be organised with this program. Everything is clearly and concisely presented and there are a multitude of report than can be viewed to help with management. A feature I really love is the fact an index of advertisers can be exported to excel for you to either check aginst invoices or the flat plan or send to a graphic designer if appicable. You can now also create mailings based on the status of a customer e.g prospect or existing customer. The initial effort in setting up is well worth it. Like Liz I am also running it along side my current system for the time being, everything tallys so far. Ultimately I will move to Magazine Manager Solely, as it is more than capable. Thats not to say I wont have seperate records of invoices paid etc but for management purpose its Magazine Manager all the way! I still have a few details to add here and there. I feel I must also state the obvious - read the manual first! It is easy to use so much so you feel you can plough on with it and find your way round. This is not entirely true as you can overlook functions or create more work for yourself which then needs rectfying. Take the time to learn it. Also this program is great what ever size your mag/distro its not just for "biggies" I tihnk its safe to say I love the program and would strongly recommed it to anyone publishing a magazine. Valerie, Editor Hellesdon Handbook Hi guys, I would just like to say how great I am finding this package. The potential is amazing! I have been receiving excellent support from both Cathy and Andy and would recommend that if any of you are thinking about trying it ..... do it! It is drastically reducing my paperwork and giving me much more time to concentrate on my magazine. Thanks guys! Lyn, Editor The Normandy & Worplesdon Directory |
